BharatPe prime supporter Ashneer Grover and his significant other Madhuri Jain have been brought by Delhi Police’s Monetary Offenses Wing to address the supposed extortion at the fintech goliath.

The EOW has guided the couple to show up at its Mandir Marg office in New Delhi on November 21. Two or three have been approached to join the test that is being done into the supposed Rs 81 crore misrepresentation at BharatPe, PTI detailed referring to sources.

The improvement came hours after Grover in a post on X guaranteed that he was halted at the Delhi air terminal on Thursday when he and his significant other were making a trip to New York for the excursion.

“I was going to the US from 16-23 November. At migration, they said LoC laga hua hai sir – EOW se check kar ke batate hai (Post notice has been given and will refresh you in the wake of checking with EOW). I found it weird as have voyaged multiple times universally since FIR recorded in May – never been an issue and I had not even been brought once. Flight left in the interim at any rate – EOW people guided Migration to let us out with the goal that we can get back,” he said.

EOW authorities affirmed the request and let PTI know that the couple was halted after a post-roundabout was given against them.

An FIR was recorded against Grover, Madhuri Jain and their relatives Deepak Gupta, Suresh Jain and Shwetank Jain in May by the Financial Offenses Wing in the supposed Rs 81-crore extortion case.

BharatPe claimed that Grover and his family caused harm of about Rs 81.30 crore through ill-conceived instalments to fake human asset specialists, swelled and unjustifiable instalments through passthrough merchants associated with the charged, farce exchanges in input tax reduction and instalment of punishment to GST specialists, unlawful instalment to travel services, manufactured solicitations by Madhuri Jain and the obliteration of proof.

Whenever indicted, Grover, Madhuri and others can look up to anything between 10 years to life detainment.

In December 2022, BharatPe had likewise documented a common suit with the Delhi High Court against its previous MD and fellow benefactor Grover and his family, looking for up to Rs 88.67 crore in penalties for supposed cheating and misappropriation of assets.
